Understanding Take-Offs

Hypothetically speaking: You need to acquire a price for a CAD drafted drawing that showed a punched opening, "an area cut out of the wall that needs to be filled", with dimensions of 10'w x 9'h, with one aluminum 6070 storefront door unit, and 1" insulated glass. The approach to this is to do your take-off so that you can provide someone with an estiamte or so that you'll know the hard cost. You use talk-off software or some type of estimate forms; however, you'll need to have something to write on and a caluclator or a computer to type your numbers into some worksheet, so that you can get your precentages and calculations correct.

• Push / pull hardware included in new door cost

• 2 vertical "stock length" jambs for next to punched opening: Cost = ?
