A Threshold is the piece of aluminum that resides right under the storefront door bottom rail "Kick Plate". The threshold is fastened down by two L brackets; moreover, each L bracket fastens to a door frame and to the threshold.
The purpose of a threshold is to stop water from entering into the front of your store from the exterior door side.
It is recommended not to use a threshold for commercial interior glass doors becuase it becomes a trip hazard for interior applications, and also, it has no functional purpose on an aluminum interior glass door.
